Sins of the Harvest
A short horror experience built in one week with a small team.
Project Overview
Sins of the Harvest is a horror game made during a one-week game jam with a team. The focus was atmosphere, tension, and a complete playable loop within a tight deadline: scoping features aggressively so we could ship something cohesive by the end of the week.
The project leaned into unsettling environments and scripted scares rather than complex systems, prioritising mood and pacing over long-term progression.
Development Journey
With only seven days, we split roles early: environment, lighting, audio, scripting, and level blockout: and locked the core loop in the first two days. The rest of the week went into polish, playtesting jump-scare timing, and fixing blockers that broke immersion.
The main challenge was keeping scope realistic: every feature had to earn its place in a jam timeline, so we cut anything that did not directly support the horror beat we wanted players to feel.
